German intermediary brought to the Gaza Strip, the Israeli response to the demands, implementation of which the Palestinians have linked with the release from three years’ captivity of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, reported Arabic language TV channel Al-Arabiya on Monday.

TV quoted an unnamed Palestinian source, according to which the position of Islamists who want to exchange Shalit for hundreds of their countrymen, will be formulated immediately, but after coming this week of consultations between the leaders of Hamas in Gaza and Damascus.

Agence France Presse says that the parties are still unable to agree on a list of names of prisoners, who Israel have to
release in exchange for a soldier. There are debates around some 70 candidates, said in the agency report from Cairo.

Previously the Israeli Government announced the principle possibility of release in the upcoming transaction of 980 Arab prisoners.

It is also expected that the release of Shalit will help to stop the blockade of the Gaza Strip, which was introduced in the summer of 2006 after the capture of the tank crew.

The parameters of a prisoner exchange are worked out in the backstage talks that are conducted by the parties, mediated by Germany and Egypt.
