Swedish journalist Donald Bostrom accusing Israel of trafficking organs of young Palestinians, argues that his life was threatened.
“After the publication of my article, I received hundreds of threats, including three threats to life,” - said Boström during a meeting with reporters in Damascus.
He added that pressure on him have the charge of anti-Semitism, as well as publication in the media discrediting his name fabrications, which complicates his future professional activities.
In his controversial article Boström, referring to the approval of the Palestinians, said that Israel “steal” the organs of dead Palestinian children. The same time he does not have any evidence of organs removal. Article only illustrates with the photo of 19-year-old Palestinian, where through all the body runs down the seam. According to relatives, his organs were removed by Israeli doctors.
“I saw this body, when it was brought into the Palestinian village. It has been disclosed. the victim’s did not give family their solutions for the autopsy. When I asked about the Israelis, they were told that opened all of the body. But that does not correspond to reality,” - said Boström.
The Israelis, according to the journalist, “still did not answer the question, what happened to these young Palestinians.”
In Israel, Swede’s article caused a storm of anger and resentment, including at the highest level. He was called “racist”, playing on the “vile anti-Semitic themes.”
The author himself does not see why it made in the material of suspicion can not be the subject of an independent investigation.
“The illicit trade in human organs - an international problem. Our newspaper wrote about this phenomenon in several countries, and only mention in this context, Israel has caused such an international sound. And this is despite the fact that Israel has a long list of violations of international law” - said Boström
The purpose of its publication, which has caused widespread international repercussions, was, in his words, “bringing attention to this issue.
“The Palestinian Authority has long been aware of its existence. That the Israelis kill Palestinian children and use their bodies, said at the time Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. But the only statement of the independent Western media outlets have attracted international attention to the problem,” - said a Swedish journalist.
During less than two months have passed since the article appeared in the newspaper Aftonbladet, Boström gave dozens of interviews, the subject of the harvesting of organs from Palestinians interested, he said, a number of major publications and TV channels.
The journalist is planning to publish a second article on this topic.
