Literature
The greatest Jewish poet of our time Khim Nahman Bialik and Nobel laureate Shmuel Yosef Agnon wrote to the revival of Hebrew. Also quite well-known representatives of the new generation of writers are Hanoch Bartov and Moshe Shamir.
Theater
In Israel, there are a huge number of theaters, which are willing to offer the audience both classic and contemporary plays. For example, the Habima National Theatre, which was founded in Moscow with the support of Stanislavsky, it moved to Tel Aviv in 1931.
Museums of Israel
In Israel there are about 80 major museums. Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, in which Dead Sea scrolls or manuscripts from the Dead Sea are kept. Museum in Haifa consists of several branches: the Museum of Music and Ethnography, Modern Art, Ancient Art, National Maritime Museum, Museum of Japanese culture and Paleontological Museum. The Museum Bet ha-tefutsot collected almost the entire history of the Jewish people, and Yad Vashem in Jerusalem is the largest storehouse of documents on the Holocaust.
In Israel, the daily 13 newspapers are produced in Hebrew and 11 in other languages (Arabic, Russian, Yiddish, etc.) The country also has 2 main channel and a large number of cable channels that televises programs CNN, BBC and other European channels. The radio station “Voice of Israel” broadcasts programs both in Hebrew and Arabic, as there are other radio stations broadcast programs in other languages.
Education plays a very important role in society. Literacy level of Israelis are among the highest in the world. The public education system is based on the Jewish system (teaching in Hebrew), and the Arab system (teaching in Arabic), both are subsidized by the state. Also in Israel there are many higher education institutions with an international reputation and recognition. The oldest of them is the Jewish University in Jerusalem. Haifa University is preparing engineers, technologists, architects. Bar-Ilan University specializes in humanitarian and religious disciplines. One of the major specializations of the University of Ben-Gurion was training for the southern regions of the country. There are 20 Israeli universities trained about 75 000 students.
