An archaeological expedition, organized the Jewish university in Jerusalem, found out ancient building, which probably is the mausoleum of the judaic tsar Herod mentioned in the New testament. A find was done in located in 15 kilometres north of Jerusalem and to the east of Bethlehem of Irodione - earthen fortress, poured in the desert in the years of rule of legendary tsar. Building excavations were begun as early as May, 2007.

According to professor Ekhud Necer, largest specialist on Herod’s archaeology, which manages an expedition, the height of mausoleum arrives at 25 meters, that fully corresponds to status probably bury in it tsar Herod. The burial place Herod is ransacked - scientists consider that it happened during rebelling of israelites against Roman power.
